Nothing stays in the same place very long.

More Snowmen for my Craft Fairs

To get ready for our local Vendor Craft Fairs

and to add to the Peddlers Mall, 

I have been in Snowman overload!

Below are some wood slices that I freehanded some snowman

scenes on. just start by painting the backgrounds black and

then go with it.

More and more Snowmen Clothespins in the make!

I also make some of these into magnets.

Here's an old aluminum lid I found and just decided to throw a snowman face on it.

And there on the end I am trying out a few white plastic ones.

But so far i’m not loving them.

Heres an old chair I found at my late Dads house.

It's not done of course, but it's in the making.

And below you will never guess what I made this entire

primitive looking snowman out of!

An old drawer bottom that fell out of a set of chester type drawers! The long pieces side ways for the nose and hat brim.

are the pieces that broke off.

This snowman is my favorite of all and will be pricesd at $12.00.

Fun with Halloween Labels

It’s that time again! Time to add a lil creepy to our homes. And this year I did something new. I ordered some sticky Halloween themed labels from ebay, (because I didn’t feel like going out and buying the sticker paper & buying images on Etsy at the moment.) So it was just because I wanted the easy way out, or I’d have taken the time to do so. lol.

I made a lil box of things with labels to go in my Peddlers Mall booth as well. Here they are after I used what I needed, I packaged the left over labels up for sale in my booth also. So people can put them on what they want, if they don’t like my pre-made items.

As you see, they are just basically pre-made stickers with cute Halloween themes. That’s it. Ready to stick. Just find an object to put them on. Here’s some more pics of how I used them below on an old medicine bottle, can of beans and a can of tuna. I just took off the original labels and stuck them right on.

 

And here’s a little display I made on the front porch. Note the cute little barn wood cabinet that my wonderful hubby Greg made! Gotta love a crafty man! 

I love these labels. So simple but they add a unique look for my decorations. I need to go snap some pics of the yard and area my husband decorates. I may add some later on, if I can remember.

DIY Primitive Sidechair

Do you have an odd chair sitting around?

Need to fix up an entry spot?

This will do, and it's easy to!

A Simple DIY Primitive Sidechair

Here is a single, scuffed up $2.00 chair that I won at the local auction house:

I liked how it already had the popular black and wood colors. A must with primitive decorating.

And I thought I could do just a little bit to it to make it a wantable chair.

So I got out my stencils and paint.  

I used oil based stencil paint, btw. After it dries it is very durable.

But those stars above weren't large enough so I had to find another.

I use these a lot!

 

After I stenciled this "OLDE CROW PRIMTIVES" and Star on, I let it sit and cure (dry) for 24 hours.

Then I applied an all purpose paint sealer, found in the craft section at Walmart.

It will help seal it all in a bit.

 I also took some medium grade sandpaper and scuffed up the legs a bit more.

And that was all to it.

Nothing special, but it is a little bit better than just one plain odd chair.

DIY: Vintage Halloween Labels

Halloween Labels

I know it's not close to time yet but here's a Halloween post.
Or if you buy other themed labels, leave them out all year.

Primitive TOBACCO STICK FENCES

I have been making these cute little fences out of tobacco sticks for a few years now.

(Don't know what tobacco sticks are? Click here!)

I'm gonna show you the basics of how to put one together.

Here is one all plain, just the tobacco sticks:

Simple as it looks.

Just lay out some tobacco sticks, cut them in the lenghts you want and then nail them together.

I use a nail gun so that it goes by faster. And these tobacco sticks are a hard wood.

And then you just start to decorate them however you want.

Here are a few that I have recently made and sold in my 

Booth#555 at the Peddlers Mall.

 Look close, I used a Blue Willow tea cup as a birds nest and put a red speckled egg in it that I made here.

I wired it on with craft wire through the handle.

 As you see, I just lay them out and make a variety of types and sizes.

You really can't go wrong with this craft!
