GHOST LEANERS

from fence planks

I wanted to make some Halloween Ghost Leaners.

These are used to sit about anywhere you need some decorations,

but without nailing, pushing into the ground or hanging them.

They are easy leaners.

I first just rounded off the tops of a bunch

of varying sizes of fence planks with a jigsaw.

Then I freehanded some quirky "boo" faces on each

and just cut them out.

I also made a few square pumpkin lanterns

with the same wood while I was working.

Here's a group pic of them all.

Then I went and propped them up,

spray painting each side in a Rustoleum white.

This will help seal the wood for a good while also.

And since Christmas is just about 3 weeks ahead,

here's and idea of how you can paint those extra,

vintage Christmas tree bulbs.

I just made a circle in white, painted a little face,

sprinkled it all with spatter white for snow,

and added a wire hanger and some greenery.

Fun with Halloween Labels

It’s that time again! Time to add a lil creepy to our homes. And this year I did something new. I ordered some sticky Halloween themed labels from ebay, (because I didn’t feel like going out and buying the sticker paper & buying images on Etsy at the moment.) So it was just because I wanted the easy way out, or I’d have taken the time to do so. lol.

I made a lil box of things with labels to go in my Peddlers Mall booth as well. Here they are after I used what I needed, I packaged the left over labels up for sale in my booth also. So people can put them on what they want, if they don’t like my pre-made items.

As you see, they are just basically pre-made stickers with cute Halloween themes. That’s it. Ready to stick. Just find an object to put them on. Here’s some more pics of how I used them below on an old medicine bottle, can of beans and a can of tuna. I just took off the original labels and stuck them right on.

 

And here’s a little display I made on the front porch. Note the cute little barn wood cabinet that my wonderful hubby Greg made! Gotta love a crafty man! 

I love these labels. So simple but they add a unique look for my decorations. I need to go snap some pics of the yard and area my husband decorates. I may add some later on, if I can remember.

EASY Christmas Tree Display

EASY CHRISTMAS TREE DISPLAY

This is a very simple design, so don't worry. Even though it looks complicated, you'll see it's definitely not.

I started out with some plain pieces of pine boards from our local home goods department store, Lowes. Here's what they looked like. I grabbed a few in different sizes.

They come in various widths and lengths.

Then I just free handed, in pencil, some tree edges right on the board where I'd cut them out with a jigsaw.

 This is the shape of the edges you want to create.

Painted it a forest green all over and then dry rubbed on some black streaks for contrast.

The box I had found was perfect for a base. So I sit the base inside the box and screwed on the flat piece of lumber to the bottom. Just to make sure it had enough weight to hold it down in place while standing.

It was just an old rough piece I had on hand. It worked great. I didn't mind the previous existing nail holes to the right.

And to make a hanging spot for hooked items,

I just tapped in some small steeples, or some call them large staples.

They are just U shaped and strong enough to hammer in with ease.

Leave them sticking out far enough so you can hang items though!

And that was it!


Don't let the thought of it being complicated keep you from trying it.
It was really a simple cut out.  The hardest part was finding a box for the bottom and then screwing on an extra flat piece of wood for the base to stand strong.

EASY CRAFTS TO MAKE AND SELL

I'm going to share a post today about some of the crafts that I most frequently make to sell.  After making them, I sell them in my craft booth, Booth #555 at the Morehead Peddlers Mall.

And here is just a few that are super easy and fun!

Snowman Clothespin Magnets:
These adorable snowmen magnets are a super fun craft.  They cost only a few dollars to make a package of 50.  And as you see I price these for $1.00 each in my booth.  You can also use them as bag clips for potato chips and such.

Snowman & Pumpkin Wooden Spoons:

These are super fun and easy to make also.  And on the cheap side but you can sell them for around $2.00 and still make a profit locally.  If selling online I know you have to raise it to cover various costs.  But local sales and craft booths these can be huge money makers.  Just keep enough in stock and ready to go.

GRUNGY & GRUBBY TEA LIGHTS:

These are a messy craft but fun! Who doesn't love having primitive looking candles sitting around? I think they look so country, I just love them!
You can grab the plain, white candles at your local Big Lots store for cheap!

These are super fun and look adorable in any country kitchen. I have crocks and jars full of these in my home. And I'm adding to them every time I make a batch!
