Snowmen Light bulb Ornaments

I don't think I've previously written about these adorable snowmen Ornaments.
If I have sorry, but they are just so dang cute they need to be posted again! lol

I have taken both new and vintage Christmas tree glass bulbs and painted them up as snowmen.

Their sizes are approximately:

Height: 3 Inches; Width: 1.5 Inches; Depth: 1 Inches

I have hand painted each Christmas bulbs with various Snowmen faces and expressions and then attached craft wire for easy hanging.

These are best displayed as a set. So I tend to make a lot of them to sale.
A tree full of these would look awesome.

I do hand paint new ones each week, so no two are ever exactly alike. And that is a bonus

to making hand made gifts. Each and every one is unique.

Great to decorate with or to give as gifts separately. 

And adorable as cute tie on gifts to top wrapped gifts with.

If you have any old bulbs on a strand that don't burn anymore give this a try.
You can also buy brand new bulbs, this size in packages of 5 at Walmart and Lowes.

SNOWMAN LIDS

Hey ya'll,

Here's a super easy snowman lid I made last year and think I forgot to share. I had been seeing these pop up all over Pinterest and I really wanted to try a few on my own. I just looked at them and tried to keep the same basic features. 

This is a great way to use up any bent, dented or extra cooking lids you may have sitting around.
Mine comes from boxes of them I buy at auctions.

I got all these plus the coffee pot and pan for only $8.00 one night!!!

The one I painted here, before, it was just a regular, aluminum style cooking lid in silver.

The first thing I did was to clean it good, let it dry then spray paint it in an Almond base color. I used the Rustoleum brand.

Just ignore my clothespins, I still have to paint tons of them!

Then after it dried for a few hours, I started with the basic face using a permanent marker.

Here are the eyes.

A mouth and a few more features.

Then I came back in with paint and did the nose in Cinnamon orange and the eyes in a baby blue.

I also sponged on some "snow" to the nose after the orange dried. 

 And don't forget to add some rosey cheeks. I used the dry brush technique and just kept adding more till it looked like enough for me.

And to finish it all off, it's hard to see, but I used a can of white spray paint and sprinkled white dots all over everything to give him a snowy look.

 Then to finish him off, I took some pieces of fabric and a jingle bell and hot glued them to the side.

On the back I used some E-6000 glue and a sawtooth hanger in case someone wants to hang him up.

I priced him for $5.99 in my craft booth.

Snowman Spoon Magnets

The Peddlers Mall has kept me pretty busy lately with the holidays coming up so fast.  My hand made crafts are already selling out! I couldn't be more happier!  Just knowing that people really like the little things I make is an awesome feeling!

Here is the latest little snowman crafts I have made.  Snowman wooden spoon magnets. I priced these little primitive cuties for only .99 cents each so that it will be a cheap gift for anyone to pickup.

These started out as little wooden spoons that I had won off from an eBay auction.  I got a pack of like 48 or so for $7.00, since it was an open package. Great deal! Still plenty enough for me to use.

They are approximately 3 5/8" tall so they will make for some cute little snowman magnets! Not sure where these were bought from originally but I'd guess WalMart has some similiar.

First, I laid them all out on some wax paper so that my counters will stay somewhat clean.  Then I gave them a quick coat of off white craft paint.  (If it had been warmer outside, I would have simply spray painted them but it was like 20* outside!)

Just dab on a glob of orange and pull your paintbrush straight down. That's it for the noses! Simple.

And above you can see that I used some dark orange to paint on little skinny noses. These are popular on the primitive themed snowmen.

And next I free handed on some little cute faces.

Just use your imagination when painting on the faces. Give each a different look by simply doing the eyebrows differently or the mouths.

I like the little X's for mouths for some reason, lol.

Next, I tied on little bits of pieces of homespun fabric in all different colors to make these little snowmen a scarf.  I had bunches of these leftover from various other crafts and I always save the little scraps for things like this.

And then it was time to add the little magnet on the back.  I got this package of 20 magnets at the local Dollar Mart for only $1.00 called Magnetic Buttons.  Sadly last month that store closed though.

These are small but strong enough to hold up these little wooden spoon snowman magnets.

Here you can see instead of all having black buttons of coal down the body, I wrote a few words such as "love and friends."  It just adds a bit more cuteness I think and gives each it's own personality.

Look close and you can see the little strips of homespun fabric as scarfs.  I just tied a simple knot in them around the neck area.

As you see above, I stuck them in an old white enamel pan for display.  These pans make them look cute and are an easy magnetic board to stick them to for displaying.

I was going to add little jingle bells to the scarves but I couldn't find any in my craft supplies small enough.

So here you have it, my Snowman Wooden Spoon Magnets made out of plain wooden sticks, similar to ice cream spoons, for only $ .99 in my Peddlers Mall Booth #555.

PRIMITIVE SNOWMAN MAGNETS CABOCHON

The party favor buttons can be found at the Dollar Mart for only $1.19 for a pack of 12. Wow!

Just take them apart by pressing them open, the pins on the back twist off with a setting and here they are all apart:

The little plastic cabochon tops tops are usually that price for only them!

And I just began by painting the backs of the Jesus inserts. I did not want to paint over the Jesus picture, lol, I'm just like that.

Then after painting about 24 of these all in antique white, I started to add some eyes:

And then I started to just free hand on some noses and then some mouths on some:

Some of them I took some very very light reddish pink and gave their cheeks some rosey, winter color.

And then I took some magnets, also found in the Dollar Mart, for a $1.19 for a pack of 20! Unbelievable! I bought all they had! And I glued them on the back with my favorite glue ever, E6000. It is found at Wal-Mart.

And then on the fronts I took some tears of homespun fabric, tied little knots in them, and glued them on with E6000 glue also, as little scarves.

And here is a set of them sitting and drying.

They are starting to look super cute!

After they dried, I tried the magnets out on a metal lid. They hold great!

And then I figured on some (not assembled yet) I would go back add some glitter to the faces. To give the feel of maybe frost. I did this with simple craft varnish mixed with a dash of silver glitter. White glitter would have been better, but I was out of the great, tiny stuff:

Some of them I decided to put the Pins back on the back to mix them up. 

Who knows, they may be a cute winter pin to wear!

And the others, I left as magnets. Magnets are my all time favorite thing to make with snowmen!
